Established in 1991, the Alberta Plastics Recycling Association (APRA) is an Alberta not-for-profit industry association, dedicated to sustainable plastics recycling and minimizing plastic waste in the landfill. APRA facilitates the development of sustainable programs to effectively manage plastics waste and acts as a resource to Alberta Environment (AENV) and interest groups including individuals, governments and companies.

The Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) is a not-for-profit, non-political organization formed in 1987, and approved as an official charity in 1995. The RCA’s mission is to promote and facilitate waste reduction, recycling, and resource conservation in the Province of Alberta.
